Each episode presents conversations with scholars, activists, and artists about their insights into Zionism. Unpacking Zionism is a process and a long-term commitment that we make to the Palestinian liberation struggle and the struggles of all people affected by Zionism. To understand and resist Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, we must understand Zionism as a politics, ideology, set of institutions, and interactions with other modes of power. Join us as we unpack Zionism one episode at a time.

Office hours with mentors in Critical Zionism Studies
Questions about your research? Trying to shape a project? Navigating the fraught space of academia?
To support the development of research and careers in Critical Zionism Studies, ICSZ offers office hours with established scholars. Each mentor has offered a number of 30-minute meeting spots for the 2026-27 academic year.
Zionism as Racism: 50 Years On
In 2025, ICSZ hosted a year-long collaborative study of UN Resolution 3379, which in 1975 affirmed that “zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.” Organized by African and Asian states, the declaration that Zionism is racism tied the demand for Palestinian liberation from Israeli colonization to the fight against apartheid in South Africa, and to antiracist/anticolonial struggles worldwide.
Zionist Smear as Weapon & Ideology: Documenting, Theorizing, Resisting
People who speak publicly about Palestinian lives, and against Zionist colonialism, are all too familiar with backlash in the form of smear and hate mail. Smears are public attacks, often spuriously charging antisemitism or “support for terrorism.” They often extend further, too.
